Donald Trump has reignited his war of words with U.S Intelligence and the media over claims that Russia has financial and personally damaging dossier on him.
Talking at a press conference, which initially was going to cover how he was going to separate his political and business interests, it quickly turned to Trump dismissing the allegations made in the dossier.
It is fair to say that he went full Trump, and targeted CNN and Buzzfeed. CNN had said earlier in the day that Trump and Obama had been briefed on a memo that outlined Trump’s visit to Russia. Buzzfeed published extensive details of the document. It is claimed Russian operatives had put the dossier together.
Trump denounced the dossier as fake news, and said his opponents were sick people.
He also lambasted U.S Intelligence agencies who he blames for leaking the document. He said, “It was disgraceful that the intelligence agencies allowed any information that proved so false and fake to get out. That’s something that Nazi Germany would have done, and did do. That information was false and fake.”
Somehow, in amongst the jibes and the interest around Russia, Trump, dossiers, and elections, it got out that he is handing over management of the Trump Organization to his sons Eric and Donald Jr.
The dossier originally was handed to the U.S intelligence community by John McCain. He said in a statement, “Late last year, I received sensitive information that has since been made public. Upon examination of the contents, and unable to make a judgment about their accuracy, I delivered the information to the director of the FBI. That has been the extent of my contact with the FBI or any other government agency regarding this issue.”
Russia has denied they were involved in the creation of the dossier which in the main cannot be verified.
