Actors Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are finally divorced after a bitter wrangle. The pair have now agreed who will get to keep what, with their Yorkshire Terriers, Pistol and Boo, staying with Amber.
The dogs made headlines in 2015 when the celebrity couple sneaked their pets into Australia. The pair later went on to make an embarrassing public apology for taking the dogs into the country without permission. Amber will also be keeping a horse, along with a classic Ford Mustang and a Range Rover.
Meanwhile, Johnny, who will have gone into the relationship as the richest partner, will be retaining homes in Los Angeles, Kentucky, France and the Bahamas, as well as a staggering 42 vehicles, which includes his collection of cars, motorbikes and boats. The former couple had been locked in an increasingly bitter wrangle, after Amber’s legal team said that Johnny was refusing to pay a $6.8m divorce settlement which had earlier agreed upon.
Time to move on
However, a judge said he had had enough and threw out motions which had brought legal proceedings to a stop. He ordered Johnny to pay the rest of the settlement. Amber’s lawyer Pierce O’Donnell described it as a “great day” for the actress, adding: “All Amber wanted was to be divorced and now she is.”
Amber filed documents earlier this week, which accused Johnny of refusing to sit down for a deposition. He claimed that she simply wanted to prolong her “15 minutes of fame”. However, the Pirates of the Caribbean star has now been told he must pay the rest of the settlement. Johnny, meanwhile, had asked that Amber be told to pay $100,000 in legal costs because he said Amber was the one delaying proceedings. He was said to be furious at comments that his now ex wife had made in public about alleged domestic violence.
